Storm Damage and Disaster Response FAQ
What types of natural disaster damage do you handle?
We respond to all types of pool damage from freezes, tornadoes, hail, lightning strikes, floods, and fires. Our team assesses the damage, prioritizes safety, and develops a recovery plan to restore your pool.
What should I do immediately after a storm damages my pool?
First, ensure the area is safe — do not enter the pool area if there is standing water near electrical equipment. Turn off the pool pump and breaker if safe to do so. Then call us at (214) 402-8677. We will schedule an assessment as soon as conditions allow.
How do you handle freeze damage to pools?
After a freeze event, we inspect all equipment for cracked pipes, damaged pump housings, and broken heater cores. We replace damaged components, restore plumbing, and rebalance the water. We also offer preventative freeze protection services including running pumps and insulating exposed equipment.
Can you work with my insurance company on disaster claims?
Yes. We collaborate with insurance companies on natural disaster claims, providing documentation, damage assessments, and repair estimates. We can work directly with your adjuster to streamline the claims process.
How quickly can you respond after a disaster?
Response time depends on the scale of the event. After widespread storms or freezes, we prioritize existing maintenance clients and work through affected areas systematically. Call us as soon as possible to get on the schedule.
What does post-disaster pool cleanup include?
Our disaster cleanup includes: removing debris from the pool and equipment area, inspecting and repairing damaged equipment, draining and refilling contaminated water, shock treating and rebalancing chemistry, cleaning or replacing the filter, and a full safety inspection.
How can I protect my pool before a storm?
We offer preventative strategies including: securing loose equipment, covering exposed pipes, lowering the water level slightly before heavy rain (never drain the pool completely, since groundwater can damage it), shutting off electrical systems, and installing protective covers. Call us before forecasted severe weather for a pre-storm preparation visit.
Is lightning damage to pool equipment covered by warranty?
Manufacturer warranties typically do not cover lightning or power surge damage. However, homeowner insurance often does. We can assess the damage, provide a repair estimate, and recommend surge protection upgrades to prevent future damage.
